Yogyakarta - Team from the Indonesian Army Special Forces (Kopassus) and PKPU volunteers kept on trying to evacuate bodies in Ngepringan, Wukirsari village, Cangkringan, Sleman, Saturday (6/11/2010). Based on information from a resident, around 10 bodies have not been evacuated.
According to the observation of Kompas.com, at first, PKPU volunteers tried to pass through a route toward the hamlet. However, the condition close to the hamlet was still affected by the yesterday's tremendous eruption. Some of volunteers' shoes were torn and melted. PKPU team finally could went through a forest.
The team came when Mount Merapi kept spewing hot clouds or wedhus gembel. The hot clouds went up in the air. Bursts of the hot clouds could be heard from the Merapi peak starting from 07.00.
Previously, two bodies had been evacuated in Cakran hamlet, Wukirsari, Cangkringan, Sleman. The two bodies were brought to an ambulance to RSUD Dr Sardjito hospital, Yogyakarta. (Sandro Gatra)
